This print was created for the exhibition 'Fifty Bees 4: The interconnectedness of all things' where I was asked to create a response to the British native Small Scissor Bee. The Small Scissor Bee uses bellflowers exclusively as it's source of pollen, and the ancient Harebell flower is one of them. There has long been an association between hares and witches, and the title of this print alludes to one of the many names used for harebells in folklore. Witches were claimed to drink the sap of these flowers to turn themselves into hares. The corn dolly continues the folklore/pagan theme.
