Super Seconds Festival listing: Salix Caprea No.5

*SUPER SECONDS FESTIVAL LISTING*

Super Seconds Festival is when artwork listed as 'seconds' or test prints are sold at a reduced rate.

I've not yet made this print available as an edition in my shop as the block is large and very tricky to print. There are six available in total, each with its own listing, so please look carefully at each photograph. All have slightly under-inked areas due to the size of the block, but this doesn't detract from the print and they'd all look good in a frame. The full priced version of this would be at least three times this price (just in case you were wondering!)

Featuring primitive goats (my favourite!) the purple emperor butterfly, a sallow kitten moth, and colt's foot wildflower surrounding an ancient Goat Willow with ivy roots growing around it's trunk. This depicts the habitat of Clarke's Mining Bee (Andrena Clarkella) as the Goat willow is an early Spring food source.

The print was made for the Fifty Bees project, where each artist responds to the ecology of a given bee.

A one colour linocut, printed on Fabriano Rosaspina 280gsm paper in oil based ink. 

Paper dimensions: approx. 42 cms x 62 cms (paper size can vary by one or two cms)

This print will be signed, titled and dated, and sent rolled in a cardboard tube.
