A six colour reduction cut linoprint, printed in a limited run of 20 prints. Printed in oil based ink on Fabriano Rosaspina 280gsm paper.
A reduction cut linoprint is when each colour that has been printed is carved away. This means that there is virtually nothing left on the block after printing the last colour, so the block can not be printed again.

Inspired by Japanese prints of fireworks, and outsider art on the theme, the image is taken from a view of Hampstead Heath. Artistic license comes in to play when I imagined what this particular view might look like on November 5th. People do usually view fireworks over London from Parliament Hill which is the highest point on Hampstead Heath.
Each colour has been carved by hand, and printed on my press, so there may be variations in some of the texture and tones on the print. This is considered part of the beauty of the handmade process!
Each print is numbered, signed, titled and dated on the front in pencil, and sent in a cardboard backed package.
