A blackthorn blossom linoprint, printed on 280 gsm Fabriano Rosaspina paper, in oil based ink. Printed as an open edition so the print is not numbered.
Blackthorn is an auspicious tree in folkore, and known as a fairy tree in Irish folklore. It is a protector from evil spirits and bad omens, purifies, and creates boundaries from negativity. It has long been associated with witchcraft, and wands were said to have been made from the branches. The blossom on the blackthorn is beautiful and delicate, in contrast to it's thorny stems.
Dimensions approx: 13.5 cms x 24 cms
